I’m just so very thankful to my physical therapist.

It’s not that I don’t appreciates all the efforts from all the health professionals when it comes to putting me back together.

Indeed, there was just so much great care involved all along the way. But my physical therapist was the one who suggested that I ditch the pain meds for indica and sativa products. It was getting to the point that I was leaning on those pain meds far more that was healthy. I don’t know exactly how she knew this. Yet, I imagine she has seen so many people trying to recover who are dealing with pain management through pills. I’m so glad she directed me to the local cannabis spot. I’m not so sure that had I not gotten off the pain meds, that my recovery would be coming along as well as it is. I’m finding that the indica products I’ve been using are so beneficial physically. For sure, there is a pain management element to the indica strains. But it’s not this foggy masking of pain but rather a lessening of pain to where I can manage discomfort. But the indica products are awesome when it comes to loosening up stiff muscles and joints. I’m just so much better off from a range of motion standpoint with indica strains for sale at the local cannabis spot. And that’s what we’re trying to do with physical therapy anyway. The doctors put me back together after that car wreck and now it’s up to me to work myself back to a new normal. I’m sure glad to have a partner in cannabis products when it comes to that effort.

My wife and I have enjoyed cannabis throughout our adult lives. But unlike some other cannabis users, we don’t indulge all that often any longer. For one, it’s illegal to purchase or possess any amount of marijuana where we live. I’m certainly not about to start wandering around in order to find some marijuana for sale. Our kids are middle school age and using cannabis while they are around just doesn’t feel appropriate to us. So we have the grandparents come stay with the kids every month or six weeks and travel several hours to the cannabis dispensary. We make a weekend out of it and it’s a blast. While I certainly enjoy my fair share of recreational marijuana, I don’t over indulge. And I think that’s one of the huge benefits when it comes to cannabis products. And that’s good for me because while I don’t drink to relax or enjoy a bit of quiet, I do enjoy a puff or two of something like blue dream or girl scout cookies. That’s all it really takes for me to enjoy some relaxing fun while not over indulging. Still, I love to swing by the local cannabis spot whenever I can. There is just such a great atmosphere there and the people really are terrific. Not only are they always looking out for new cannabis strains for me, they’re just great humans to be around. I like experimenting with alternatives and have found that consuming edibles is completely different from smoking dried flower.

I always pay close attention to the levels of THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) and CBD (cannabidiol) in the products I choose. The effects of each are very diverse. THC is the primary psychoactive ingredient in cannabis and responsible for the high sensations. Whether I smoke a joint or ingest a gummy, I can get that feeling of euphoria. There are a wide array of edibles that offer plenty of THC potency, including capsules, oils, tinctures, baked goods, beverages and candies. I prefer those options that include a balanced amount of CBD, because it elevates the therapeutic benefits. When I smoke or vape, the effects set in within minutes. This is due to the cannabinoids directly entering the bloodstream and lungs as I inhale. With edibles, the stomach first breaks down the food. Then the THC and CBD travels through the digestive system before finally reaching the bloodstream. Lt can take an hour before experiencing any effects. Edible dosage can be a problem for some people. Body chemistry, weight and metabolism rate impacts the intensity of effects. Two people can eat the same amount of an edible and react differently. When the effects aren’t felt right away, people are tempted to eat more. I’ve learned that when I try a new type or strain of edible, I start with the lowest recommended dose. I then wait several hours before even considering consuming more.
