The education system in our state was on a total downward spiral when I was a child. Even though we were in a bull economy before the 2001 terrorist attacks, our state’s legislature was cutting education spending all over the place. They deliver immense corporations giant tax cuts & fund it by reducing expenditures for public welfare. And because numerous people in the state legislature have financial ties to numerous of these companies, they’re lining their own pockets with education & food stamp money. It makes me absolutely sick just thinking about it! When I likewise become frustrated with stubborn or ignorant people, I have to remind myself how poor our own education was before I left for college & came back for a working career. Unlike most of the people I know, academics & reading appealed to me & my interests. I was listening to lectures on my mp3 player back in the day & it definitely pushed me to fill in the gaps at university with self-education. One fine example is my deep interest in the marijuana plant. I didn’t try cannabis until I was 17, but I was actually learning about it for years before that point. Since I was at first learning to meditate from my study of Eastern Philosophy, I wondered if cannabis could supplement those practices.
