Cannabis and PTSD are good partners

When I was a young child, I had a very traumatic childhood filled with problems.

My mother was an alcoholic and my father was in and out of prison all the time.

My mom used to leave my brother and I home alone for several days at a time. The state finally took my brother and I away from our parents when I was nine and my brother was six. We were placed in the foster care system. Believe it or not, our lives actually improved after we were taken from our parents and placed in the system. My brother and I ended up going to the same home. The couple that took us had one other foster child that they had adopted. My brother and I lived with them for three years and then they adopted us as well. Jack and I were and are very lucky that our parents wanted to give us a good life after we were placed in the system. My mom wanted us to have good mental health, so she insisted that we go to a therapist once a week. I was diagnosed with extreme PTSD. The doctor suggested a pill for depression and I started taking a daily dose every single day. When I was 18 years old, I looked into cannabis. I read studies online that showed a direct correlation between cannabis and the relief of PTSD symptoms. My doctor agreed to give me a prescription for medical cannabis and the results have been amazing. When I use medical cannabis, I feel much more happy and at peace with myself.
