I was able to learn fairly recently that when I needed to change the address on my driver’s license, the DMV didn’t carry on with renewing my license like they said they were.
In a rush on my birthday this year my license expired and I didn’t find out until I went to a bar where I was looking to get in.
They said “sorry, however we will not serve you” just from having a license that expired several afternoons prior. This was a very powerful annoyance and I had to make sure I got up early enough to visit the DMV before heading into work for the course of the day. It was an additional $35 I wasn’t expecting to spend that day, however at least my driver’s license is now active all over again. Renewing my medical marijuana card with the state wasn’t even as challenging as renewing my driver’s license. When my medical marijuana program started in 2017, you had to physically mail the Office of Medical Marijuana Use your check and paper application. Then you waited a little bit longer for the marijuana card to show up at your doorstep. Now you can easily renew with their digital portal and have a temporary digital card sent to your text device in no time at all. This is honestly relaxing if you want to renew your card on the same day as your appointment with your medical cannabis physician. Once you know that your physician has substituted your medical cannabis recommendation with the OMMU, you can truly submit your application and payment to get the temporary card in a hurry. It’s a relatively convenient process when you actually compare to the paper applications from numerous years ago.
