It’s frustrating that many cannabis workers don't know their products

There are a fair amount of tasks where I wouldn’t expect the employees to be real experts regarding all of their corporation’s products and services.

There is a fairly serious difference between a cashier at the grocery store and a waiter who is working at a pizzeria. While the latter spends a good portion of their shift recording orders and making suggestions based on the menu offerings, the former most of the time scans items and processes payments. It’s definitely no surprise that cashiers often look at me sort of like a deer in the headlights when I ask them about a particular product and what aisle I can discover it in. I genuinely like it when someone is willing to go out of their way to help me with a major concern I’m having trying to find something I need on the shelves. I genuinely run into similar issues when I’m shopping at the local pot shop. You expect cannabis budtenders to be trained and understand most, if not all of the products in the store, however several are essentially glorified cashiers who are trained to use the register. They scan your products and accept your money. But there are times when I need help finding a strain that’s going to work well for my ailments. If there are all of these strains at the pot shop I haven’t tried yet, it can help to ask the budtender if they’ve experienced any of them personally. Other times I want them to scan the item and show me the exact terpene percentage on the lab report results. This can also supply me information on which terpenes happen to be completely dominant, something that can tell me if I’ll easily appreciate a certain strain or not in several cases.
