Making moonshine and growing marijuana

While the pots are cooking, and turning the mash into spirits, that is the time to tend a cannabis crop.

I built my first still at age 12. I had been helping my old man with his still since I could walk, so this felt like the natural next step. My dad was very encouraging to me, and in his own way I think he was proud. Moonshine distillation has been in our family since the Prohibition days, either for professional purposes or just for pleasure. As the years rolled by, I found that I enjoyed making moonshine, but didn’t want to do it professionally. Moonshine was my hobby, but cannabis was my passion. Oh, don’t look so shocked, you think a lot of bootleggers out there don’t grow cannabis crops in addition to making whiskey? Distilling spirits and growing cannabis both require the same principle attribute, which is patience. You cannot rish good liquor, or good cannabis, it takes time to turn out right, so a moonshiner always has spare time on his hands. While the pots are cooking, and turning the mash into spirits, that is the time to tend a cannabis crop. Not only does it keep you busy, but it generates a second revenue stream, because both cannabis and moonshine are very valuable commodities. Besides, why not piggyback one crime on top of another, because an illegal still site getting raided means they will find your cannabis crops too. That’s why the main rule of moonshining and cannabis cultivation is to not be afraid to run and not look back. If the cops find your site, you can never go back there again no matter how many stills or cannabis plants you have.
