Dan is one of the only “cool dads” that I know.
I have a lot of friends, coworkers, and associates, but very few of them are parents.
People don’t like to hear this, but when you are a parent to a child you get a different perspective on life. Whenever we get a chance, which is perhaps once or twice a month, Dan and I get together for a little smoke session and talk about our lives. We don’t necessarily talk about our kids every time. The one thing we always do, every single time, and consume a staggering amount of cannabis. It’s like we feed on each other’s energy, and just keep packing marijuana into the bowl as long as we are talking. Once the night ends and all the cannabis has been smoked we know it’s time to return to real life, the kind filled with chores and responsibilities. I firmly believe that being a father has been the biggest blessing of my life, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t stressful. Smoking cannabis is a perfect way to relieve stress, especially since it will never give me a hangover. No matter how much cannabis I smoke with Dan, the next morning I am ready to get back to Dad Duty! Sometimes I discuss with Dan what it will be like when our kids are old enough to discover cannabis for themselves. Will teenagers in the future even bother with cannabis, or will there be some new kind of drug they choose instead? I guess only time will tell.
