There is something so full circle for me about seeing my highschool girlfriend.
It’s not a novelty by any stretch but more of grounding of sorts.
And man, did I ever need that. You don’t realize just how far away from your real self you can get until you do. That sounds less convoluted in my head that it reads. But for sure, the fact that I was meeting my highschool girlfriend at the cannabis dispensary was a reality check indeed. However, it was the sort of reality check that has lingered with such joy and love. Neither of us would have even considered using recreational marijuana back in the day. We were in love in highschool and the first two years of college. Even then with all the marijuana on campus, we chose to stick to the books and each other. So the fact that my old flame suggested we meet at the local cannabis spot was intriguing. I hadn’t been back home in a long time and neither had she. But we both have aging parents so we get back there more often. We figured why not try adding some sativa to the mix to take the edge off of dinner. Well, it was a brilliant idea. Not only did I have the time inside the cannabis dispensary to get my head around who I was having dinner with, a nibble on a pot brownie was the ticket. Dinner was lovely, moving, sweet, informative and ultimately a sense of full circle for me. It was so nice. We promised that we’d meet at that local cannabis spot again in the future. I know I’m ready for another visit.
